ABOUT: Peter-Tolin Baker (Founder, Principal Designer)

As the founder and principal designer for PTB Design Services, Peter-Tolin Baker has leveraged strong
creative skills, extensive design experience and natural business acumen into building a full-service design
and production resource for experiential environments and branded events.

Previously, during Baker’s tenure at Tiffany & Co., he was responsible for product presentations and display
standards within all sales locations worldwide. He successfully built a responsive, global visual merchandising
department involved with store planning and fixture development, as well as in-store promotional
presentations. Additionally, his role often required partnering directly with Tiffany’s legendary designers on
product presentations, including Frank Gehry, Paloma Picasso and Elsa Peretti. Significant store planning
projects involved interfacing with distinguished architecture and design firms including Yabu Pushelberg,
Kengo Kumo & Associates, and Robert A. M. Stern Architects.

Baker launched his New York retail career as visual manager at the renowned luxury-shopping emporium,
Henri Bendel New York on Fifth Avenue. This position frequently required working directly with both well-
established and new fashion designers on display windows and in-store presentations, including Michael Kors,
Anna Sui, and Jean-Paul Gaultier. Previous design and production experience in California included clothing
design for an award-winning contemporary clothing brand, and design and construction management for a
custom display and prop company with clients that included Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, and the Smithsonian
Institute.

Additionally, Baker has worked as scenic designer for dozens of dramatic and musical productions, and as a
valued lecturer and adjunct professor at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology (SUNY). He is an active
board member for the Retail Design Institute, Pacific Northwest Chapter, and is a featured columnist for
Design:Retail magazine. Baker graduated magna cum laude from San Francisco State University, where he
received a bachelor’s degree in scenic design & fine arts.
